On the 4th Thursday of each month throughout the year the Laboratory Guild will host our Open Membership Meetings. These meetings will gather the members of the Laboratory Guild into one space so that we can provide updates along with hosting a special speaker each month. Education is one of our core values so we have built these meetings, therefore, we have designed our meetings to be open to the public.
We have chosen to partner with the R.A.I.N. Incubator in Tacoma, WA for this series of meetings. The R.A.I.N. Incubator is a biotech innovation hub that has a mission: “To educate our community and grow jobs, talent, and companies in BioTech for Tacoma.” Because the mission and goals of the R.A.I.N. Incubator match those of the Laboratory Guild we anticipate that these meetings will be engaging and collaborative. We are building a space for the industry to share and compare ideas and projects that are improving the industry.
The meetings have been scheduled to start at 4:30 pm, which for most will create a long working day. We will start each meeting off with a half hour of networking. The meeting will then start with an introduction of the event when we will introduce our sponsor and brief the attendees with the meeting agenda. The Guild will then provide two short updates by members of the Executive Committee. After the updates we will hear from our speaker about the topic at hand. The speaker will be available for questions after the closing notes, which will include an invitation to Happy Hour just a block away at Black Fleet Brewing.
